The following article considers an ecocritical analysis of Claudio Magris’ literary texts. Through a close reading of selected quotes from Danubio, Un altro mare, Microcosmi, L’infinito viaggiare (but also considering other works such as Alla cieca and Non luogo a procedere) three particular aspects are highlighted: the literary representation of natural places, the narration of ecological crisis and the crucial role played by the presence of animals.
